Thanks Dr Mollie, I'll send you a post card and a cheque for the doctoring fee because that German wording is quite apt with the access coffee drinking as a matter of fact, I was in tune to a Bb on my piano

LOL!

The first time I heard that when I lived in Germany I curled up laughing until I was told what it meant!

Tom good luck on your travels If it was me 1st time I would go off grid local then if there are any glitches you are close to home.I know you will have tested all of the components at home but the acid test is when you are on the road and using them together

Thanks Peter yes you're right a shortish distance to work out the unknowns, It is solar panel only, no 'hook up' facilities , Power from the Sun and water from the well so I might have to put up with warm beer if the fridge takes too much out of the batteries,,

Hope you're enjoying yourself, Tom.

When we went to Rhodes on holiday many years ago we were sitting in the outside bar of the complex we were in. We heard a couple chatting and their accents sounded very familiar. We asked where they were from and they said Wiggin. I said: so are we. They came from Shevington!

If asked, "where are you from"?, I would never say I come from Wigan.
Simply, because I don't.

Peter, a few years ago, I bought an engine from a place called Rayleigh.
The bloke rang me regarding delivery, which he was arranging. He asked where it was going and I said, "Wigan".
He replied with an inquisitive, "Where's that then"?
When I said, "Halfway between Liverpool and Manchester", he understood straight away where I was.
That said, I hadn't a clue where 'Rayleigh' was either
Wigan is like Timbuktu. You might have heard of it, but you haven't a clue where it is!

Tonker

Did you ever use Sutcliffe's for reboring, head skimming, crankshaft regrind etc

I used them a couple of times, as I had an aquaintance who worked there. After they closed, they re=opened as Wigan Engine Centre, on Pottery Terrace, and I had an old Porsche engine in there having some work done on it's crankshaft. Unfortunately, at that time, they went bankrupt and the receivers locked the place up, including my engine, which I never got back.

Tonker

Sorry to hear about that, I didn't realise that they opened up somewhere else, I think they had a fire at Newtown.

Tonker, Rayleigh is in Essex, if you're still wondering.

Yes, Millie, I gather so. However, I've never been. To Rayleigh I mean, I've been to Essex numerous times.

There wqas a lad who went to my school called Ray Leigh. He was a couple of years older than me.

I once went to a wedding in Essex at the Church of St Nicholas in South Ockendon, to which I stayed on a golf course at Billericay
